As you know, we love gathering for Women’s Growth Group. It’s a blessing to gather as sisters in Christ, who together know the joy and peace of salvation in Jesus. I love the quality conversation and prayer time we enjoy, while our children are loved and taught about Jesus.

Jenny and I, with the help of the pastoral team, have been praying about WGG. While on one hand we want to make sure we’re being wise members of society, on the other hand we love gathering together under God’s word - as God's people! We’ve decided that the wisest course of action for our women and children at the moment is that we’re not going to gather physically at the HUB as the collected Women’s Growth Group from this Thursday 19th March. This will mean that Tuesday and Thursday Little Buds will also be stopping for the moment.

You'll still be gathering weekly with your Growth Group (GG). We’re blessed to be able to keep meeting together with each other even though we can’t do that at the Hub. Just like all of the other GGs around church, we encourage you to keep meeting with your GG each week during this COVID-19 season. At this stage, it’s still an option to meet as a group in someone’s home if you would like to do that. Alternately, you may decide to meet virtually via video-conference or teleconference. The best next step is for you to get in touch with your GG to discuss how you’d like to meet as a group this week.

We recognise that having your children with you during GG will dramatically change your experience of gathering as a group around God's word. Having our children join in GG will be busy, distracted, and different, but our children will be blessed to join in on our loving God together. The key thing is that we gather to love God together, even if it's not as distraction-free as usual!

The best way we can serve each other is to keep praying. Please pray for Jenny and I, the HBC pastoral staff, and your GG leaders as we all seek to serve with wisdom in this season.

We're facing lots of change as a community. As I’ve gone to the shops and found empty shelves, and as I've read different COVID-19 news reports, it's been confronting. I’ve found it comforting that we can look to a certain future in eternity with Jesus! And let’s keep lifting our eyes to Jesus. We’ve got a great hope to share amidst suffering and trials. I’m keen to say confidently to my friends and family who don’t know Jesus, ‘This COVID-19 thing has made me think about how great heaven will be, I’m looking forward to it so much.’ Let’s be praying that our good God will grow his kingdom, that many look to Jesus in faith and are saved!

Your Growth Group leaders are mature and godly women who are keen to lead and encourage you in your faith. If you need encouragement or support, why not touch base with them today.
