Jeremiah 35–52: Words of Triumph
Where do you look for hope when everything has collapsed around you? Who can you trust when your hopes come crashing down? Where is God in times of disaster?
In Jeremiah 35-52 the prophet faces imprisonment with the power of the state against him. The nation is left ravaged by a powerful invader. Amidst chaos, death, and exile, God's unwavering word prevails. The same word that predicted destruction because of sin speaks of hope, redemption and victory.
These words of triumph that comforted God’s people long ago give us strength and hope now. In the light of Jesus and his gospel we can have confidence in the future no matter what our current situation is. And this hope is not just for us, it’s something all nations need to hear about.
