MTS Mission Minded Newcastle will gather people from the Central Coast to the Northern Tablelands to think about how the gospel will shape our futures and prayers.

There’ll be four main sessions in 2 Timothy with Dave McDonald, plus you’ll get assigned a mentor to talk through your future plans, and you’ll get time in a peer group with people in a similar stage of thinking and life.

There’ll be time to reflect, and we’ll have some great meals together, meeting people from all over NSW.

Compassion Insight Trip

Compassion Insight Trip

Ilioilo City (map)

Compassion works!

Our church has been partnering with Compassion Australia to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name for many years. Now we have a chance to witness the difference the work of Compassion makes with our own eyes!

See firsthand how our local church partners are serving their communities in the Philippines. You will meet and be encouraged by church leaders as well as visit local families in their homes.

On this trip you will travel to Manila and Iloilo City with small groups from like-minded Australian churches. Join us to see how local church members worship God in both word and deed by ensuring each child is known, loved, protected and released from poverty in Jesus’ name.

“Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations.”

Whether you're considering or on the cusp of retirement, or even if you have a few years of retirement under your belt, this Prime Time event may be helpful for you. Security, financial or otherwise, is not an unreasonable focus for all of us.

Join us as Geoff Bowden walks us through some facts and figures and explains terms that we may have heard but not understood as he looks at retirement from a number of perspectives. He brings his 15 years of experience in the finance industry and his faith to this presentation. He may even remind us that we really should have listened to our maths teacher.

Stewarding money well

There’s loads of wisdom around our church when it comes to being good stewards of finances. Whether you’re just starting out and struggling to budget, or you’re a sole trader, a GP, or you’re managing a portfolio of assets, this will be a night to help you think through various ways to manage and grow your financial literacy.

Electives for :

First time budget-ers

If you’re new to budgeting, or you’re struggling to work out how to manage money, there are helpful and wise steps you can take. We’ll hear from a Financial Planner about how to start from scratch, make a budget and sort out your money, so you rule it, rather than it rules you.

Sole Traders

If you’re a Sole Trader, money can feel like it comes in floods and droughts. So how can Christians manage being generous while also managing the chaos of business. Hear from a specialist Sole Trader Accountant on how to manage and give shrewdly as a Christian.

GPs

Did you know there are different ways GPs and Health Providers can setup their finances to best manage tax, giving and reduce the headaches of bookkeeping? Hear how some GPs have brought wisdom to their money setup and how it might work for you.

Small Business operators

A small business brings it's own opportunities and hurdles when it comes to being generous and shrewd with money. Hear from an expert accountant who’s helped dozens of Christian business owners approach their setup with generous hearts and shrewd thinking.

Youth Weekend Away

Get the dates in your diary now!

We’re planning another unmissable weekend. Come forge new friendships, strengthen existing relationships and deepen your love of God.

Check out our FAQ’s and last year’s timetable below to get an idea of what you’ll get up to!

  • It’s best to leave your phone at home - you will need to leave it in your bag during most of the camp and won’t be allowed to use it during sessions, seminars, or games.

Bring a Paper Bible and a Pen!

Cabins are for RESTING and SLEEPING - not hanging out, unless a leader gives you permission otherwise.

  • We know finances are tight for many this year. If the cost is going to be a barrier to your youth coming along please shoot us an email at youth@hunterbiblechurch.org

  • You can let us know about any special requirements in the relevant section of the rego form.

  • We’d love for you to come to as much of the weekend as possible but we understand this may not be possible for everyone. Reach out to us at youth@hunterbiblechurch.org to chat about your options.

  • Going away for a whole weekend with lots of people you don’t know can be scary. If your youth is feeling extra anxious, reach out to us at youth@hunterbiblechurch.org. We’d love to chat about some ways we can support you and your youth to ease some of those anxieties.

  • We’re expecting over 100 youth to come along to camp this year which is SO exciting but it does mean that logistically it’s too big a task for us to arrange lifts for every youth. If you can’t drive your youth to or from camp we recommend chatting with some other parents to see if they are able to give them a lift. If you’re really struggling to find someone, reach out to us at youth@hunterbiblechurch.org. We’ll work to put you in touch with someone that may be able to help.
