Why?

As a church we want to be a people who live with Jesus at the centre of our lives. AM Weekend Away is an opportunity to spend time with one another and sit under the transformational power of God's Word and Spirit.

We are praying that God would use this weekend to have a remarkable impact on our hearts in partnership with one another as we refocus on WHAT REALLY MATTERS

 

Where & when?

LUTANDA TOUKLEY (1 hour from newy) | FRIDAY 3RD - SUNDAY 5TH JUNE

It would be great to start planning ahead for the Friday afternoon to try and get down there and ready for the first session.

who?

Our whole AM family! From ages 0-100+. There will be a full kids program and team to teach our kids about WHAT REALLY MATTERS and help parents manage the weekend.

 

what will be happening over the weekend?

Four massive sessions on WHAT REALLY MATTERS from the Gospel of John along with praise in song and prayer

Separate Men & Women seminars to challenge and encourage us in GODLINESS

Stacks of free-time to RELAX, RE-CHARGE & RELATE to one another as we build unity and fellowship in our AM family. There will be opportunity to grab a coffee, have a yarn and catch-up, have a siesta, sit around the camp-fire and/or play some backyard sport.

 

Accommodation

The site 270 beds. A common room contains 6 beds (bunks) and an ensuite.

There is also 10 rooms of lodge accommodation. These include: 4x Double, Bunk, Single & Ensuite | 4x Twin & Ensuite | 2x Double, Single & Ensuite. The lodge style accommodation costs $20 extra per adult / per night.

There is also space for 20-30 persons to do non-powered camping, with Men & Women common shower and toilet facilities. However the site does not charge us any less for this style of accommodation. For those interested it does increase our flexibility of placing all families with kids in their own room and free this up for others as well. For those without children we may make some men and women rooms

Here is our plan...

We have 48 rooms to accommodate roughly 70 family units (this includes: families, married couples without kids and singles)

Our goal is to accommodate everyone - from families with a bunch of kids, to older couples, those with anxiety, etc. That is why - all room placements will be discussed extensively with every family & individuals.

This will mean some people will have room to themselves - for example an older couple or someone with social anxiety might really prefer the twin room lodge style accommodation. That's great if there are finance troubles with that then we are happy to help. Other people might feel comfortable to share a room - but only with people they know. That's great too.

4. If you are not convinced or still don't feel loved and looked after we will refund the money for the weekend.

The earlier people can sign-up the more time it helps us in placing people and loving those with social anxiety or concerns about the weekend!

costs

The costs are set as low as possible. Included: All accommodation, all food (breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner & supper), payment to SALT Church for giving us Dan Godden for the week and a full kids team/program. We have only placed a minimal mark-up on adult prices to help account for payment towards the volunteer kids team & to discount kids prices. (Please note kids 0-2: are free).

We don't want finances to be an issue for anyone or stop people from missing out on such a fantastic weekend. The benefit of a weekend away like this for our whole church family at AM will be well worth the financial costs. For those of you who might struggle financially - please let us know. 

 
 

What's the plan for the kids?

For those who attend RUSH & YOUTH on Friday arvo/evening we are still working out what it will look like for this crew. No matter what though we are planning for all adults to be able to make it for the first session down at Toukley Friday night (without having to travel back to Newcastle).

For youth kids we see this as an opportunity to serve on the kids team Saturday and Sunday. They get some great weekend aways throughout the year and this is an opportunity for them to serve both their littler brothers and sisters and Christ as well as all the adults as they model and mentor the younger crew with a servant-heart.

There will also be Kids Team Leaders who will lead and run the entire kids program over the weekend. During the night sessions these guys will be monitoring kids who have already been put to bed, putting kids to bed at certain times (as per parents request), running activities for those kids who are still awake (there will also be a crying room hooked up to the audio for those parents who want to stay with their child and listen to the talks). Saturday and Sunday mornings these teams will be running a full four hour block full of Bible Teaching, fellowship and fun activities.

 

WHat should i do now?

PRAY | That God would use this weekend away to help us drag Jesus back to the centre of our lives and grow together as a family of believers at AM
